How we started

The Initial Ambition Was Reflected In The Transition From Academia To Entrepreneurship.

Our Highmight founder, Andy Jha, had a similar academic experience to many, filled with youthful ambition and inevitable anxieties about the future. He immersed himself in electrical engineering, tinkering with circuit boards and screens, but his aspirations extended far beyond a technician's workbench. He was drawn to the market, constantly thinking about how to translate technology into commercial value.

After graduation, instead of joining a large corporation, he chose to forge his own path. He realized that huge, often overlooked opportunities existed in the market. At the time, there was a strong demand for LCD video walls in commercial displays and surveillance systems, and Andy saw the market potential. He used his savings to rent a small office and founded Highmight.

In the early days, the company consisted of only Andy and two other employees. These employees handled both sales and technical work, even moving the equipment themselves. Andy spent his days communicating with clients and his nights troubleshooting screen problems, often sleeping on the office sofa when he was exhausted. Despite the numerous difficulties, he cherished the job because it allowed him to do what he loved.

However, the market was constantly changing. Competition in the LCD video wall industry was fierce, and profits continued to decline. Furthermore, rapid technological advancements made it difficult for small businesses to survive. Andy realized that if he continued to focus on this industry, Highmight might soon be eliminated by the market.

Breakthrough: A Strategic Transition from Liquid Crystal Displays (LCD) to LED

As the LCD video wall industry approached saturation, Andy began seeking new growth opportunities. He recognized the booming LED display business, particularly in outdoor advertising, stage displays, and stadiums. LED displays, with their higher brightness, greater clarity, and more flexible splicing, were gradually replacing traditional display technologies.

The transition was no easy feat. LED displays required higher levels of technology and greater capital investment, and the market was already monopolized by a few major companies. Despite this, Andy persevered. He firmly believed that high-quality products would ultimately lead to success.

He led his team in in-depth research into LED technology, even personally visiting production plants to understand the production process. To reduce costs, he chose to initially target small and medium-sized enterprises (SME), providing customized services rather than directly competing with established large companies. Highmight's first LED project was an outdoor advertising screen for a local commercial district. Despite the small scale of the project, Andy insisted that the team give it their all; every aspect, from color calibration to thermal design, was meticulously optimized.

Ultimately, this screen won consumer recognition with its superior display quality and stable performance, allowing Highmight to make its mark in the LED industry.

SURVIVING ADVERSITY: WINNING MARKET SHARE THROUGH QUALITY

Surviving Adversity: Winning Market Share Through Quality

The LED market is fiercely competitive, with constant price wars. But Andy has always adhered to one principle: Highmight will not produce the cheapest products, but the most reliable ones.

He realized that relying solely on price competition would lead the company into a vicious cycle; true competitive advantage stems from technology and quality. Therefore, Highmight is committed to research and development, continuously improving product performance. They developed more energy-efficient drive systems, increased screen refresh rates, and achieved industry-leading stability under extreme conditions.

Highmight's reputation gradually grew. Highmight's LED solutions are widely used in various settings, including shopping mall advertising screens, corporate exhibition halls, concert stages, and live sporting events.

However, Andy was not satisfied. He believed that LEDs were not just "display screens," but also a medium for "light and shadow art."

Therefore, Highmight expanded its business into the creative display field, creating customized visual experiences for advertising and art exhibitions. Under their guidance, LED screens are transformed into dynamic canvases, where light and shadow weave captivating storylines.

Challenges and Breakthroughs: Global Expansion.

Andy switched his attention to the international market after establishing a strong domestic presence. He recognized LED displays as a global opportunity, and Highmight was prepared to compete against established international brands.

However, foreign expansion brought its own set of challenges. Each country had unique market criteria, client preferences, and cultural nuances.
Highmight struggled with acclimatization at first. A screen delivered to a European client was returned due to noncompliance with local environmental rules, resulting in severe financial penalties.

However, Andy saw this setback as an opportunity for progress, not a reason to lose up. He built a worldwide team, conducted extensive market research in many countries, and personally traveled several countries to meet with clients.

Highmight's LED displays may currently be seen in commercial areas, stadiums, transportation hubs, and important international events all around the world. Andy will often say, "Our objective is not to become the largest LED company, but to be the most trusted visual solution provider."

Future: Use light and shadow to connect the world.

Andy is filled with pride as he considers the progress of Highmight. What started as a small workshop making LCD splicing screens has grown into a global name in the LED display industry. This transition has been driven not only by technological breakthroughs, but also by a thorough awareness of the market and a firm dedication to quality.

Highmight is now studying more advanced technologies such as Micro LED, transparent panels, and flexible displays. Andy foresee a future in which LED is used in a larger range of applications, including smart homes, virtual reality, and even space-based display systems.

"Light represents the essence of human achievement," Andy told me. "Highmight's purpose is to unite the world through light and shadow, ensuring that every screen narrates a distinctive story."
